The client

About the client

A software-as-a-service product for moving and transforming data between databases, APIs and files, aimed at both business users and technical teams.

Most organizations keep data in several places: databases, third-party APIs and exported files. Moving it between them usually means custom scripts and a developer on call.

This platform was built to change who can do that work. Business users should be able to set up and run pipelines themselves, while engineers still get the depth they need. The product runs on .NET 7 with a Vue.js interface.

The challenge

What had to be solved

The product had two audiences with very different expectations.

  • Non-technical users needed to configure workflows, automate recurring transfers and manage integrations on their own.
  • The same users had to see performance and data quality and fix problems as they happened.
  • Technical teams wanted advanced transformation logic, custom scripting, API access and system-level diagnostics.
  • Everything had to scale as data volume and pipeline complexity grew.
The approach

How the team built it

Pipelines built in the browser

A web interface lets users connect a source, pick tables, preview data and set defaults without writing code. Workflow tools cover data mapping, transformation logic and business rules.

Many sources, one workflow

Connectors cover SQL Server, Oracle and MySQL, plus CSV, JSON and XML files. A REST API and WebSocket interfaces open the platform to other systems and to technical users.

Schedules instead of reminders

Recurring transfers run on automated schedules, so no one has to start them by hand. Each run is logged, and failed records are counted separately from successful ones.

Visibility at every stage

Monitoring, logging and validation track each pipeline from ingestion to delivery. Dashboards show workspaces, scheduled jobs and successful versus failed records over time.

The outcome

What changed

Data integration became something business teams can run, with engineers stepping in only for advanced cases.

  • An 80% success rate was reported for the platform.
  • Pipeline status is visible in real time, with monitoring under one second.
  • Disparate databases and file formats now feed into a single workflow.
