About the client
Teams that needed a single place to plan, track and report on work, from simple task lists to full project management.
Simple boards are easy to start with but run out of depth. Full project tools have depth but are slow to learn. The goal was a system that sits between the two: familiar to anyone who has used Trello, with planning features closer to Jira.
It had to work for a small team on day one and still hold up as the number of users, projects and tasks grew. Mobile access and customizable dashboards were part of the brief from the start.
What had to be solved
The product had to stay simple on the surface while carrying a lot underneath.
- Support Scrum, Kanban and mixed setups with sprints, backlogs, workflows, roles and timelines.
- Keep navigation clear and reveal advanced tools only when a user needs them.
- Push updates in real time to many people working on the same boards.
- Stay fast on large datasets with complex permissions and reliable backup and recovery.
How the team built it
Teams pick Scrum, Kanban or a hybrid. Planning, workflows and role settings follow that choice instead of forcing one process on everyone.
Each card holds custom fields, labels, checklists, attachments, comments, estimates and time spent. Daily status logs and monthly tracking reports draw on the same data, so time reports do not need separate entry.
Changes, comment threads and notifications reach every open session instantly, so the board on screen is always the current one.
Node.js and MongoDB hold the core data. Redis caches hot reads and Elasticsearch handles search across large task volumes. The React and Redux frontend stays responsive on any device.
What changed
Teams got one place to see who is doing what and where each project stands.
- Less time spent finding tasks and updating their status.
- Clearer project tracking for stakeholders, with faster decisions as a result.
- High adoption within the first month of use.
