The client

About ProdUp

ProdUp is a product management and sync application for its clients' WooCommerce stores.

ProdUp lets its clients manage products in one place and sync them to their WooCommerce stores. Catalogs can be large, so imports through the WooCommerce API have to finish quickly and complete without silent gaps.

OSKI was brought in to speed up and harden those imports and to give moderators better tools for catching bad product data.

The challenge

What had to be solved

Large imports were too slow, and problems in the data were hard to spot.

  • Import large volumes of products into WooCommerce fast.
  • Recover from failed requests without losing track of what was imported.
  • Find duplicate SKUs and products with missing descriptions or attributes.
  • Support products and UI in more than one language, with access depending on user permissions.
The approach

How the team built it

Imports split into parallel tasks

The team refactored the bulk import through the WooCommerce API to run as parallel tasks. Imports became significantly faster.

Failures handled, results kept

Error handling and retry logic were added, and the result of every import is now stored, so nothing disappears quietly.

A dashboard for data integrity

An admin dashboard shows moderators duplicate SKUs and products missing descriptions or attributes, so issues are fixed before they reach a store.

Languages tied to permissions

Products can be edited in several languages and the interface is localized. Which languages a user can work in depends on their permissions.

The outcome

What changed

ProdUp's clients get catalogs into WooCommerce faster and with fewer data errors.

  • Large imports run in parallel and finish significantly faster.
  • Failed requests are retried, and import results are kept for review.
  • Moderators see data quality issues in one dashboard.
